Performsinterventionswiththebasicequipmenttypicallyfoundonan ambulancetomanagelifethreats,medicalneedsandpsychologicalneeds 3. Assessespatientconditions,providesstabilizingmeasuresandrequests additionalresources,asnecessary 4. Mayprovideminimalsupervisiontolower-levelorequal-levelpersonnel 5. Providesanimportantlinkwithinthecontinuumoftheemergencycare systemfromanout-of-hospitalresponsethroughthedeliveryofpatientstodefinitive care 6. Operatesanassignedambulanceoremergencyvehicleusedforpatient careandtransport,commensuratewithlevelofemergencyvehicletraining,as requiredbythe Authority Having Jurisdiction(AHJ)
Training Requirements
Completionofthefollowing: The NIMSTraining Programdefinesanationalbaselinetoguideandpromote NIMS 1. IS-100:Introductiontothe Incident Command System,ICS-100 training.Itprovidesrecommendationstoassist AHJsindevelopingtheirowntraining 2. IS-200:Basic Incident Command Systemfor Initial Response,ICS-200 plans,tailoredtotheirspecificneeds 3. IS-700:An Introductiontothe National Incident Management System 4. IS-800:National Response Framework,An Introduction 5. Traininginambulanceandemergencyvehicleoperations,orequivalentas requiredby AHJ 6. Traininginaccordancewith Occupational Safetyand Health Administration (OSHA)29Codeof Federal Regulations(CFR)Part1910.120:Hazardous Materials Awareness 7.
