The SARCrew Chief: Not Specified 1.Conductsair SAR,recovery,andevacuationoperationsfrominsidetheaircraft 2.Performsair SARthatmayincludeexternalloadriggingandoperation; communicationwithgroundresources,otheraviationassets,anddeployedteam members;technicalrescuesusinghoistorshort-haultechniques;coordinationof landingzonesandhelispotsforthehelicopter;navigationsupport;communications support;andspecializedhelicopteroperationsinallwaterenvironmentsincluding swiftwater 3.Conductsdayornightairsearchesandrescuesunder Visual Flight Rules(VFR) conditions.Aircraftflightoperationsmayalsorequireflightunder Instrument Flight Rules(IFR)andnightvisiongoggles(NVG),basedonthemissionastherequestor specifies 4.Performs Basic Life Support(BLS) 5.Reportstothe Helicopter SARPilotincommand 6.Assistswithoverallsearch,rescuetactics,andmedicaloperations 7.Supervisesaqualifiedcrewthatconductsair SAR 8.Provides: a.Safetyofselfandteammembers b.Basicmedicalcareofself,teammembers,andsurvivors c.Simpledecontamination
