The Scienceand Technology Advisor: Not Specified 1.Monitorsincidentoperationsandprovidesscientificandtechnicaladviceon mattersrelatingtotheintegrationofscienceandtechnologyintoincidentresponse efforts 2.Enhancessafety,assistsinincidentactionplanningandinformsdecision-making ofallscienceandtechnology-relatedincidentactivities 3.Consultswithsubjectmatterexpertsinthescientificandtechnological communitiestogatherinformation,serveasaliaisonandmakerecommendationsto theincidentcommand,Unified Commandorcenterdirector 4.Maintainsanextensivenetworkthroughoutthescientificcommunityanddraws fromthisresourceasnecessarytohelpinformincidentoperations 5.Ensuresproperinformationmanagementofscientificdataacquiredduring incidentoperationsandfieldtesting 6.Disseminatestechnicalinformationandtrainingtoallresponsepersonnelwho mayneedspecialknowledgerelatingtoincidentplanningandresponseactivities
Training Requirements
Completionofthefollowing: The National Incident Management System(NIMS)Training Programdefinesa 1.IS-100:Introductiontothe Incident Command System,ICS-100 nationalbaselinetoguideandpromote NIMStraining.Itprovidesrecommendations 2.IS-200:Basic Incident Command Systemfor Initial Response,ICS-200 toassist Authorities Having Jurisdiction(AHJ)indevelopingtheirowntrainingplans, 3.IS-700:An Introductiontothe National Incident Management System tailoredtotheirspecificneeds 4.IS-800:National Response Framework,An Introduction 5.E-191:Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface 1.4-SEPTEMBER2025 SCIENCEANDTECHNOLOGYADVISOR(NQS) 1OF3 Position Qualificationfor Operational Coordination Emergency Management COMPONENT SINGLETYPE NOTES
