Theprimaryfocusisservinginanassistiveroletosurgeons,anesthesiologists,and Not Specified otheroperatingroomstafftopreparepatientsforandassistduringoperative procedures.The Surgical Technologist: 1.Functionsunderthedirectsupervisionofasurgeon,anesthesiologist,or registerednurse 2.Preparessurgicalinstrumentsbeforeandafterprocedures 3.Assistswithsurgicalcountswiththeregisterednurseorcirculator 4.Assiststhesurgicalteamtomaintainasterilefieldduringeachprocedure 5.Preparesandtransportspatientssafelytoandfromtheoperatingroom 6.Passesinstruments,retractstissuestohelpbettervisualizetheareaofthe patientwherethesurgicalteamisworking 7.Assistsintheoperationandsterilizationofoperativeequipment
